GE’s Distributed Power business offers announced the introduction of its
brand new Waukesha* VGF* high-speed fuel engine models that, initially, combine
the company’s verified compact gas engine pattern which has advanced controls
normally utilized in GE’s larger Waukesha models.
Offering advanced controls after treatment capabilities as regular features,
the VGF products give operators greater versatility for on-site power, air/gas
compression and drilling programs for oil and gas production when compared with
other engines available in the actual 300-600 horsepower high-speed variety.
The VGF is changing the controls and emissions reduction technologies from
GE’s larger Waukesha VHP motor, the industry workhorse for gasoline compression
and oilfield energy generation. Previously used only for fixed applications
before the upgrades, the brand new F18SE and H24SE VGF models will be available
with ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY non-road (mobile) certification with regard
to air quality, allowing the devices to also be deployed regarding mobile
applications. The accreditation on the engine also includes protection for
certain stationary applications.
“Our new Waukesha VGF propane engines from GE provide greater flexibility and
additional value for operators in order to deploy our engines within difficult

Until now, engine packagers might buy the engine from GENERAL ELECTRIC or

Waukesha VGF versions with the emPact product providing, GE is offering

The new VGF models‘ top-end maintenance intervals have been prolonged 36%,
which is a significant update over the existing GSI website and a 50 percent
longer period than competing engines. The main overhaul interval also is two

downtime and greater package availability. Finally, with regards to servicing
