Løvås believes that this current diesel fuel regular
does not adequately address the issues that stem from biological carbon fuel
changing over time.
"Right right now, there are clear requirements for your
fuel quality when it simply leaves the production site. Perhaps all of us also
need standard requirements with regard to fuel storage and dealing with, for
example how long the energy can be stored, and below what conditions, without
altering character, " she says.
And tests cost more money, because do technical
measures for example extra fine filtration to get rid of wax particles before
filling up the tank with gas.
"If new requirements tend to be imposed on oil
businesses, they want be sure that the new needs solve the problem. More studies
needed to be able to say without a doubt what the cause of the problem is, inch
says Løvås.
"Biodiesel is actually safe"
The Norwegian Oil Institute (NPI) represents
organizations that sell petroleum items, gas, electricity and bio-energy in
Norway. NPI's Admin General Inger-Lise Nøstvik, who else graduated with a
chemical anatomist degree from the Norwegian Start of Technology, NTNU's
forerunner, is puzzled by the declaration that biodiesel fuel mixes are causing
problems for vehicle owners.
"NPI members take into account 98 per cent of gasoline
sales in Norway promote nearly 3 billion litres of diesel annually. Queries
about problems with fuel levels are few and far between, " states.
"It's obvious that a few biodiesel components solidify
quicker in extreme cold. However there are big differences among various
components. The energy resource sold in Norway meets the actual EU product
standard as well as official requirements for energy quality. In addition , the
diesel powered fuel sold in the winter is known as arctic diesel, which can
endure extreme cold. Diesel gas, both with and without having added biodiesel,
meets this particular requirement, " says Nøstvik.
She notes that motor manufacturers and oil businesses
are collaborating on developing the particular European diesel standard. The
actual Norwegian Petroleum Institute can also be involved with this ongoing
work.
New requirements may imply that biofuel must provide
actual reductions in carbon emissions, and that production of the gasoline will
not compromise biodiversity or even displace food production.
