Doosan Engine announced that it effectively completed an official test drive
from the first marine engine using the company’s self-developed low-temperature
picky catalytic reduction (SCR) program, with Indian ship proprietors and
American Bureau associated with Shipping (ABS) officials within attendance, at
Plant three in Changwon in Southern Gyeongsang Province on April. 15.
The
DelNOx SCR system for the main motors, developed by Doosan Engine a year ago, is
the world’s first environmentally friendly NOx reduction system, decreasing
nitrogen oxide emissions through marine engines by a lot more than 90 percent.
It is one of the highest in the industry. The SCR marine engine system is going
to be installed in ships which are ordered by India’s power firm Reliance and
constructed by Samsung Heavy Industrial sectors.
The International Marine Business (IMO) will apply the actual Tier III
emission requirements to marine diesel machines installed on ships built upon or
after Jan. 1 the coming year and sailing in United states Emission Control Areas
(ECA). In response to such a change, Doosan Engine succeeded in building the
world’s first low-temperature SCR system in 06 2013, and received the very first
order in Sept. this past year.
As an increasing number of nations have recently tightened rules on
emissions, just like the IMO’s implementation of the Tier 3 emission standards,
the market for your SCR marine engine techniques is expected to rapidly
develop
