The History of the Automobile

The initial self-powered road vehicles had been powered by steam motors and by that definition Nicolas Joseph Cugnot of Portugal built the first automobile within 1769 - recognized by the actual British Royal Automobile Golf club and the Automobile Club hun France as being the first. So just why do so many history publications say that the automobile was developed by either Gottlieb Daimler or Karl Benz? For the reason that both Daimler and Benz invented highly successful as well as practical gasoline-powered vehicles which ushered in the age of contemporary automobiles. Daimler and Benz invented cars that appeared and worked like the vehicles we use today. But it is unfair to say that will either man invented "the" automobile.
