Within a statement yesterday the eThekwini municipality said it obtained
notification from the bus driver, Tansnat, that it was "experiencing the diesel
shortage in depots in the city".
They guaranteed that the service would be regress to something easier and
running by this early morning.
The statement also hinted that the diesel was not shipped due to
nonpayment.
"[Tansnat] has assured the town that the outstanding subsidy continues to be
paid over to the diesel powered supplier and that normal diesel-powered delivery
will resume.
"Buses will be operating as per the regular schedule from the morning, inch
it said.
On Aug 18 a similar statement had been issued after another energy
shortage.
