3 Chilean power companies is going to be looking to
sign supply agreements for LNG in the arriving months after reserving capability
in a proposed expansion from the country's largest regasification fatal, GNL
Chile said Friday.
AES Gener, Colbun as well as IC Power reserved the
entire 3. 2 million cubic meters/day on offer under a season launched late a
year ago, GNL Chile said within a statement. The power companies will have until
December to confirm their own interest in signing a conclusive contract.
GNL Chile is actually owned by local fuel consumers
ENAP, Endesa Republic of chile and Metrogas, which every own 20% of the Quintero
terminal. The balance of stocks is owned by Spain's Enagas and Oman Essential
oil Company.
GNL Chile declared the three companies' proposals
acquired the highest points under the open up season qualification process
considered. The open season should attract new clients to the port, until now
controlled by the shareholders associated with GNL Chile, and broaden the size
of the natural gas marketplace in Chile in line with the present government's
pro-gas energy industry.
