Some other causes for a diesel motor failing to burn the actual diesel fuel
and generating white smoke include badly sealed piston rings, burnt-out glow
plugs, poor energy quality or a clogged air conditioner filter. Extreme engine
problems, like a cracked block, a damaged cylinder head, leaking valves or a
blown head gasket, can also cause the problem.
Occasionally white smoke only
seems when the engine starts chilly, going away as the powerplant warms up. When
this particular occurs, it is typically because of deposits around the piston
bands. Products designed to flush co2 away from the pistons frequently cures
this problem. If the white-colored smoke is due to the serp being too cool,
including an automatic pre-heater may get rid of white diesel smoke.
Diesel
powered engines also sometimes generate black or blue smoke cigarettes, both of
which are also indications of problems within the engine. Dark smoke indicates
poor ignition of the diesel fuel, as well as blue smoke is a indication of oil
burning inside the engine.
